Sunday Garba Biggs Declares Intention to Contest Plateau 2027 on the PDP Platform

Sunday Garba Biggs has formally signalled his intention to contest the 2027 Plateau State governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The decision follows extensive consultation with party stakeholders, community leaders and grassroots supporters across the state’s three senatorial zones.

Speaking on the movement he calls BiggThingsComing, Biggs framed the bid not as personal ambition but as a continuation of a lifetime of public service — from Administrative Officer to Permanent Secretary within the Plateau State Government House, where he served under three successive administrations.

A candidacy grounded in service

“This is a call to duty,” the campaign’s founding statement reads. “Leadership is about responsibility, not sentiment.” The platform rests on security and peace, agriculture and jobs, responsible development of solid minerals, and inclusive governance that carries every community along.

Central to the message is a pledge to serve a single term, honouring the zoning arrangement that rotates leadership between Plateau’s senatorial districts — a commitment the campaign describes as a guarantee of stability and fairness.
